Clapper says he has never doubted the morality of his profession. The job of the intelligence community is, in his view, honorably straightforward: to provide policymakers with objective analysis derived from intelligence gathered through legally authorized methods.

Unpredictable instability has been a constant for this administration and will be, he says, for the next one too.

After a pause, Clapper answered unapologetically: “We can do our job with a clear conscience, but we have to be careful. The history of the intelligence community is replete with violations of the trust of the American people.” That doesn’t mean that the job is immoral — it just means the job has to be done correctly. “I have always accepted intelligence was an honorable profession. We are all mindful of the need to comply with our moral values and the law.”

I like his statement. I wouldn’t want to do it but I guess in today’s society the job is a necessity. How are you?I’ve seen some o your posts but the total got up to about 450 before I had the time to read and reply. I have a new contract with a publishing company and am also busy with Author Learning Central. It doesn’t seem as if there are enough hours in the day. Also gardening has begun. Looks as if winter is finally over.
Hi Marie,
Good to hear from you. Congrats on the new job! I agree with you. There are never enough hours in the day. LOL. That’s why we have to take advantage of each of them… I am reasonably well. I had a minor tumor removed. Fortunately, it was benign. I had it done at the end of March, so I’m still a bit “tender” where they cut it out. Right where the hamstring ties into the glute. So, sitting has literally been a pain in the @ss. (Pardon my French.) And, yes, we’ve begun our gardening, too. At least, I’ve begun cutting the grass. 2nd time this year. We’re getting a fair amount of rain out here in CA, so everything is growing really well.
Well, it sounds as if you are doing well… Happy Easter! Christ is risen! (I know it’s just Good Friday, but I hope you won’t mind a little premature greeting.)
Kevin
I don’t really want to lose my followers so I haven’t ‘advertised’ that I had to create a new website because my new Telikin doesn’t subscribe to WordPress. I thought everything was arranged and when I had my new location going the WP would be transferred complete with followers, comments and likes. Most of my work was transferred but no comments or likes, but I am allowed to read them on my reader. We’re still working on it. Eventually I’m afraid they will drop the location there, so I am gradually going to advertise where I am. I don’t expect people to leave WP, it has too many great reads there, but just in case my new address is
