| The poems (speeches and writings) on the two pages linked below and all of the song lyrics are “owned” by someone else. Usually, it’s the author. Sometimes it’s their heirs. More frequently, it’s by some large faceless corporation that will probably try to sue me for duplicating their words. First, I am NOT trying to make any money off of someone else’s brilliance or creative excellence. This blog is intended solely for my personal enjoyment and to relate my personal feelings about these works by other persons. |
| Second, in most cases (lyrics specifically), I have used multiple sources and then picked the version which seems closest to my “hearing” (or memory) of a particular song. I have also changed the structure (view) of the lyrics to match my interpretation of the singing. In contrast, for “real” poems, I have (mostly, but not always) left the structure as typed by the poet. The distinction (for me) is in whether one was intended to be read (a poem) or heard (a song). |
| Finally, it is my sincere hope that anyone who stumbles upon my blog and finds a poem or song they like, go and find the original and enjoy that as well!! Read the bio’s of the authors and performers, examine their other works. If they are musicians, buy their music – or more importantly – go see them play live!! If you can’t see the original artists, go see someone else live. Poems, music and life itself are not meant to be lived inside your head. They are meant to be “examined”, yes, but more importantly, they are meant to be lived, and felt, and shared! |

| Whew… 23/05/2018 – After several years, I have finally completed the promised additions of song videos to all song lyrics. The vids appear at the bottom of each page – after the lyrics. |
