It’s often just enough to be with someone. I don’t need to touch them. Not even talk. A feeling passes between you both. You’re not alone. | |

We Are Not Alone
August 30, 2013 by kmabarrett
Marilyn Monroe was used and abused for her entire life. She just wanted love, children and a life of her own. She never got any of it. I think she was fantastic and I always hoped that good things would happen to her but they didn’t.
Hi Gigi,
From the little I know about her / have heard about her, I’d have to agree. I remember Tony Curtis getting interviewed and he spoke very highly of her. I don’t remember the when or the where of the interview. I just remember thinking I need to look back at her movies sometime to see her more. I saw her quotes on Deo’s blog (way back when) and it kind of piqued my interest again (briefly) because I felt many of the quotes were very insightful – which is why I posted a number of them on my own blog.
Deo’s blog didn’t work for a while and then came back as a private site. I requested access, but never got a response. I have never bothered to go back and alter my original postings to remove or change the links to his site.
I love that quote!
Why?
Most people I speak with feel the need to fill the silence.
For example, I miss my Hil terribly when she is not around (at home), but I am quite content to know she is in the house with me, without having to go sit with her or speak with her.
I’ve always thought it was just me being “peculiar”. (That’s American speak for one step beneath the British word “eccentric”.)
