First of all i am really sorry for not being able to reply for so much time. And i want to thank you for your golden words that will echo in my heart for very long time. I ask your permission to copy them over my hard disk so that these motivate me whenever i feel down. I have started writing again but this time with the intention to write but not to be perfect at it. And i am always gonna remember your those two words “Writers write”
Hi Priyash, Pls feel free to use anything you find on my site. What I have “created” is freely available. What I have copied or summarized on my site (like song lyrics and poems), I have no ownership claim to, but I do ask you to attritbute anything to its actual owner/writer. Most of the time, I include this information – so it should be easy for you to include that in your copy/paste.
And thank you for your kind words and courtesy.
where do you get such beautiful titles…
Thank you! They just kind of strike me from the topic (or quote). I have a feeling most people don’t “get” them, but that’s okay, because my blog is mostly for me and really only partly about sharing with others. I love words and how they interact to form ideas – particularly when the idea or the words strike me with intrinsic beauty. Since I don’t necessarily agree with all the quotes, sometimes the titles contrast with the content. Most times the titles agree with the content, but come at it (the content) obliquely. I normally try for humor (to catch a reader’s eye and tickle my own sense of wit), but sometimes settle for sarcasm.
By the way, is your avatar meant to be samuri or ronin? …or something else?
I have always enjoyed the beauty of how you interact with words to present such awesome titles. I was a bit confused about which post has to be given a start as all of your titles were eye catchy and adroitly presented.
If you don’t mind I have few questions that I want to ask. How and when did you start writing? And I myself am a writer, though I am pretty noob, I sometimes find myself hopeless and give up writing. How do you fuel yourself up to keep writing? What encourages you? Answering these questions would be a generous help.
And as far as my avatar is concerned it was meant to be representing a silent warrior. A silent warrior for me is a writer who never says anything neither uses any weapon to bring about a revolution. He is a writer who quietly attempts to change the fate of the world by his pen. Actually I got nothing representing my idea so I just ended up with this pic.
First, my apologies for the delay in replying. I’ve been mulling over your questions.
Thank you for the compliments about my titles! You may star or like as many as you wish…
I began keeping a journal when I was in my early teens. Mostly it was quotes, book reviews, poems (by myself and others), observations on life and that kind of stuff. I still have them. I kept going for about twenty years (into my 30’s). I stopped because life got in the way… Blogging is my way of picking it back up. You can search on “my journal” and find entries from them. I’m slowly but surely adding items from them every so often to this blog.
I write because I have something to say and I’m not particularly bothered if no one is paying attention at the moment. I have no real expectation anyone will (pay attention), so I’m as happy to have one follower as I am to have 158 (which is my current total). I don’t REALLY think that many folks are REALLY reading my entries anyway. I certainly don’t get enough comments to make me think so, anyway. I seem to have about four or five follow me for a couple of weeks and they drop off and others take their place. I imagine myself as a kind of large, leafy tree by the side of the road. Every now and then a traveller stops by for some shade before moving on.
I don’t really need much fuel to keep going. There seems to be an ample amount of topics: politics, entertainment, books, sports, family, science. I’m like a bee in a garden full of flowers. I just take a nip from wherever I alight that day.
What encourages me? Well, aside from my own ego, when I turn a nice phrase, a comment or a like from a stranger, I guess. Mostly, though, I don’t think I need a lot of encouragement. I guess I’m pompous enough to want to share my opinions without outside push.
I liked your avatar and I like your explanation of why you chose it. Sometimes we just pick things whether they exactly match our concept or not – kind of serendipity. I don’t think there is such a thing as a “silent warrior”, though. The very act of creating (as writing must be) is violent. I can see that revolution may not be your intent (either violent or peaceful, written or weapon), but inevitably, all ideas in the marketplace of thought are in competition and therefor may lead to revolution – irregardless of the initial intent. Sometimes, things just happen because you’re at the “tipping point” and don’t know it and your single word is enough the shift the balance to revolution.
Again, thanks for leaving a comment. Remember: writers write. You don’t HAVE to do it well, but practice makes better! Surprise yourself. Keep at it awhile and see if you enjoy it – and enjoy looking back on your body of work after a few months. Sometimes the body takes on a life of its own and becomes its own motivation for you.
Anyway, that’s my thoughts for now…
