so true and well said. Eleanor was ahead of her time in many ways –
Indeed she was! Most folks don’t know she was one of the first delegates to the United Nations, first chairperson of the UN Commission on Human Rights, and oversaw the drafting of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. Historically over-shadowed by her husband (well, yeah, he was elected President four times!!), she is (IMHO) one of the greatest women in American (if not World) history. But, then, I’m a Progressive. So I would say that, wouldn’t I?
