Hi Beth,
Yes. Apparently it’s a take off on the fact he was a classically trained composer and multi-instrument player. He said he did it as a post-graduation exercise to try to apply everything he’d learned in school. He wrote the music and played most of the parts. The horns were contributed by a friend (idea), but he also played some of them too. My understanding is after composing and playing / mixing all the tracks, people loved it and he went back and got a whole orchestra for the actual professional recording.
Also, (which I didn’t know / remember) the music was very popular for years because it was used as background / theme music for lots of local news stations around the country.
