Twenty-Four ‘Til You
September 30, 2020 by kmabarrett
an amazing line
Indeed! In an interview the main songwriter said they were returning from Scotland and driving around Loch Ness, and this is what he saw when they came around a turn. The “twenty-four” refers to they had one more gig before they could finish driving back to London so he could be with his wife (whom he was missing).
Way back when I was in high school I started listening to this Afro-Caribbean-London band called “Osibisa” which had some really wild album covers. When I was stationed in Germany I saw a cover of one of “Yes” albums and I thought, “what the heck.” It turned out I loved them. Incidentally, so did several of the other guys in my unit who never thought I was into “their” kind of music (LoL). The “Yes” keyboardist is Rick Wakeman, who went on to do some solo work which was also really good. If you are not familiar with his work, check out “Center of the Earth” or “King Arthur” LP’s. Almost operatic (but in a good way). I’ve always thought of myself as a saxophone / horn lover, but I guess I’ve always had a soft spot for keyboards, too. (Drums, bass and a screaming guitar, too! LoL.)
🙂
thanks, i’ll check it out -)
LoL… Maybe symphonic or cinematic is a better choice of word than “operatic”.
