Last Saturday, was my 65th birthday. Ten years ago, I took the week to jog 55 miles. Because I’ve been having issues with my AFib, I haven’t been in a position to even consider trying to do the same thing for this birthday…
Instead, I decided to try to march-in-place for 65,000 steps. As a subset, I did do my 30 minute dog walk and of course there is the regular amount of steps one would take in a day. (I try to do a minimum of 7,500 steps.) My prior FitBit maximum for a day was 50,000 steps which included the dog walk and a 5K jog. Anyway, it was a long haul, but I made it. I got my first 55K, my first 60K and then my 65K! Sore back and sore knees at the end of the day, but otherwise no significant issues the following day. And, yes, 544 minutes is over 9 hours to get it done. LoL!!

Wow, that’s amazing, happy birthday to you!
LoL! My family (almost all FitBit-ers) think I’m a cheater with walking in place…
Oh, and thank you for the BD wishes! Despite the 9 hours on my feet it was a very pleasant day. I watched three movies and my daughter had a sit down meal delivered. We are under quarantine as she was exposed to a work acquaintance who had a raging multi-day fever. He can’t get tested because he is not over 60 and not yet at death’s door. As of today (April 2), she has cleared her 14 day incubation period, but we are still in ours. Her 14 days ended on my birthday. If she was an asymptomatic carrier, we (theoretically) could have been infected up to that day, so we are on day 7 of our 14 days.
wow, that is amazing and happy belated birthday, we each find our way, and you really have!
LoL. What I thought interesting was the guy in France who did a marathon on his balcony (due to the pandemic isolation), did it 6hrs 48mins! He was only a little over 2hrs ahead of me! Realistically, he was turning so frequently he was never actually running. He was moving – which I mostly was not. The “best” I did was walk forward and backward about 5 paces in front of our living room TV – and that was only a maximum of 3 of the 9 hours. The article I read about him said he had trained to run a real marathon. At one point, I DREAMED / imagined about doing an “ultra”, but I snapped back to reality a while back and have come to accept my own mortality – so it’s not a good idea to try anything that radical. Still, it’s fun to fantasize…
i’m still impressed!
