[Journalist] independence is no small thing. It marks the distinction between tyranny and democracy. And in a world where budding authoritarians have advanced by blurring the difference, there was a clarity in the spectacle of a tyrant’s fury visited up a man armed only with a pen. Because the strongmen of the world only look strong. All despots live in fear of their people. To see genuine strength, look to the spaces where individuals dare to describe what’s going on in front of them. | |

Not familiar with Karl Vick, but that was a great comment!
Hi Marie,
LOL. I’ve never heard of him either. I just assume he’s a journalist or writer for Time. Although, that week was their person of the year issue, so he could be anybody. My quotes are not specifically from famous / well known people. Most of the time, they seem to be, but that’s coincidence. I just like to share what I feel is a well turned phrase. (Even if I don’t agree with the quote, if I feel it is expressed well, it has a chance of making the cut.)
As always, thanks for the visits and for leaving a comment!
Kevin
Hey, thanks for the comment. I agree. What you get from it is what is important. Sorry for the delay. I have just received my mail for the last three days. We have had snow storms since 11/1. It’s been that long since I’ve seen the ground! Then we were snowed in for a couple of days and our web was shot.
