It was said of President Wilson that he had faith in humanity but distrusted all men. The true leader distrusts humanity but has faith in a few men. | |

Thanks for sharing this ! 😊
You’re welcome! Thanks for stopping by and commenting.
I think a good president should give his faith and trust in men.
Then you are a democrat! Lol…
I think history has shown the only successful democracies have been representative democracies (aka republics) precisely because the educated, the elite and the powerful do NOT trust the vast majority of vox populi (the voice of the people). The crowd is too easily swayed by emotion and the moment and rarely has the background, training or time to examine complex issues to make informed decisions. Having said this, your comment is fairly generalized – are you saying you wish to trust ALL men, or that there are only some men you can trust. If the former, you agree with President Wilson, if the latter, you agree with Maurois…
I am not a democrat !!
In my country we don’t follow the system of republics and thanks to God we live peacefully.
I did not mean Democrat in a political party sense. I meant in terms of a single person “believing in / voting” for themselves because they believe in the social equality of each individual. I get this impression from your comment that a leader (president) should trust in men. This implies all men, not some few individuals.
I find this interesting, because while it is true your country enjoys a history of peace, it is also a monarchy (ruled by an individual) who makes decisions for the whole of the country. This is generally good while the person is good and / or has good advisors and not good when he isn’t good and / or does not have good advisors.
I see. I misunderstand you. (sorry)
I agree totally with your last paragraph.
have a nice day!
Salaam Alecom!
