Congratulations:)
Thank you! 🙂
Hi! Just wanted to say first and foremost, congratulations! Is that four YEARS?!! Wow, I am IMpressed ;0)
Also, just wanted to let you know, I see that I get much traffic from your website and wanted to thank you personally. I greatly appreciate the referrals.
I hope your day is going well and to be back in touch soon ;0). My divorce is finally over so now once I’ve changed my name back on everything (or at least my SS card and driver’s license!) I should have plenty of time to concentrate on catching up with the blogging scene.
It’s fun, I love it ;0). And I got about 25 books about different aspects of it and building a platform for a book, etc. too, so hopefully I can improve my new posts, organization, etc. I know, I know…I’m a goof like that. But it is what it is and we are who we are, yes?
Well anyways, that was prolly more than you ever cared to I know hah! But ahh well, you get to know now anyways ;0)
Thanks again. Xo :0)
Hi (KA??),
Do you prefer “tCoB”?
Yup! Four years! It’s amusing going back and seeing how the site has evolved and re-reading the postings about various things which upset me or moved me (good and bad).
25 books!! Wow! That’s going to be a heavy investment of time to plow through all of those. Best of luck…
To be honest, I am not that dissimilar. I tend to buy at least three books on a topic when I want to learn about something. Repetition is the mother of knowledge and I tend to kind of need to have things drummed into my head before I finally “grok” them. (I’ll leave it to your natural curiosity to look up what grok means.)
Anyway, keep your head above the fray and keep writing from your soul.
Hi ;0) Yes, except then I ordered like 20 more. When I get pumped about something… It’s bad news ;0) Or good I guess, whichever way you look at it!
No it’s just like sometimes I “get” an idea better when it is said in one way rather than another, so I try to order the best two or three in each category based on reviews and that sort of thing.
Plus it was an emotional spending spree (although intellectual – that counts too). It’s a legit bipolar symptom, but in this case I’ve been having many emotional overloads, so I’m sure the disorder just exacerbated it all. Who knows.
As for time, I just got divorced, finalized last week so, yay there!!!!!!! And no bebes yet so I look to my friends and sib’s with kids and thank my lucky stars for this time.
It’s such a strange sense, like I spent so much useless time in the past that I didn’t even want, and now, almost every second feels precious.
Strange phenomena, but I don’t mind it one bit. I at least now feel like I am swimming rather than just treading and trying not to drown. Don’t know if that makes sense but, that’s been my experience. So happy to have the time now ;0)
Hah! Now I just need to find the discipline to sit down and push through reading them all, but they’re all on point and by choice, so it shouldn’t be too bad. I’m looking forward to it.
College, law school and the bar exam burnt me out on reading for a long LONG time. Workin to overcome that, I miss it. Used to be one of my favorite things ;0)
Okay back to work. Thanks again for the props for my work on your website. I have noticed a difference, but either way, It means a lot ;0)
Ohh, TCOB is just the blog name, Kyrielle is my psydo which you can use for now if you would like, and then I haven’t connected my real name yet as the material is so very personal in nature and i would like to remain employed for now etc.
Soon enough though, I will be one and only one soulful entity ;0) I spend much time on that particular dream. Where there’s a will, there’s gotta be a way.
Xoxo,
Kyrie

– explains where the pen name came from. The last paragraph’s the most important ;0)
Hi Kyrie,
I think it’s terrific that you can get pumped up about “something” (blogging in particular), but then I’m a nerd and loving “different” things from what everyone else considers “normal” is what defines a nerd. That and the search for other nerds. It’s funny how nerds don’t need to love the same things, we only have to know the other person (our nerd friend) is really into something and enjoys the sensation of really being into that thing. I think it comes from a feeling of being “different” (social isolation) and then finding other people can be different too (even when they are being nerdy about something completely different).
I think it’s very good news! I do pretty much the same thing when I start a new interest. I look at reviews by others and I look at their tone as well as what they have to say. No matter how brilliant a review my be, if the tone is disrespectful (or hateful), I will almost automatically disregard the review. And the reverse it true too, a review doesn’t have to be logically brilliant if it is full of joy (or sarcasm or wit). I prefer to think of it as appreciating the diamond more by looking at the different facets.
I hope the “high” you’re feeling is part of the release / freedom from your relationship and not a symptom of being bi-polar. I’m really not sure how that all works, but I got the impression from some of your postings it can mean both highs and lows. Enjoy the freedom, but be careful. Be careful because if you were in love, love does not die easily. It remains a kernel and a part of you, ready to grow again at it’s next opportunity. It’s not the same flower, but it is the same kernel. We always have to honor our past or we risk discounting our present and anticipating (hoping for) our future. Sometimes things just don’t work out between people.
Every second is precious! That’s why I keep encouraging you to write. You have so much to share with the followers of your blog. Your operative word was “now”.
Once again, you completely crack me up!! I had already read your “about kyrielle adelshine” post, but for whatever reason it never “clicked” in my head to speak it aloud. Of course I recognize the phrase from attending Church (now). We sing this for multiple weeks during the year. It just never struck me that this (your pseudonym) was THAT Greek! LOL!!! And, yes, I remember the Mr. Mister song, too, and I never recognized that’s what he was saying either. I know you say it in the posting, but somehow it just didn’t clear the filter between my eyes and my brain.
I appreciate your wishing to separate your blogging from your “real” job. You may wish to consider creating a secondary email address to attach to your blog as your current one (at gmail) prints whenever you make a comment. It doesn’t print in the comment itself, but it does appear in the notification to the site you are commenting on. “A word to the wise should suffice…”
Namaste,
Kevin
Love the nerds analysis ;0). Totally agree.
I didn’t really understand that last part, but will look more into that. I half want to just say f it, but then the bills… Arghh, life!
Hi Kyrie,
If you look at the “comments” page, you should see three columns: “Author”, “Comment”, and “In Response To”.
Under author you should see the “gravatar” for the author of the comment. In your case, I see the picture of you. Next to the gravatar, you’ll see your wordpress login name. In your case, kyrielleadelshine. Below that, your blog title, thecultivationofbeauty.wordpress.com. The next two items are your registered email address (so wordpress knows where to send replies to you), m******v*****@gmail.com and finally, there appears a IP address: 173.**.**.21. This would probably be the PC / tablet you use at work, home or both. These are also the things the government uses to keep track of what we’re doing on blog sites (because we might be terrorists).
My caution was that if you are truly concerned about a conflict with your work, you may wish to create another free email account somewhere (Hotmail, gmail, etc) without your real name and use that as the response email address. Of course, I’m assuming “mv” are your actual initials and the gmail account isn’t already a pseudo account. If they are already pseudo accounts, just disregard this caution…
In any case, please do NOT quit your day job and risk losing your medical insurance! Yes, “Arghh, life!” – very much so…
I forgot to mention, I added your site to my “Tributaries and Eddies” section on the right side of my blog. So, if you’ve seen a recent increase, it may be from that. Otherwise, it comes back down to the couple of beautiful quotes I’ve posted from your blog. Credit where due…
Thank you Mister ;0) I greatly appreciate it and am honored.
great post. very well written.
Hi Bryan,
Thanks for the comment! I’m glad you enjoyed the posting. Just out of curiosity, do you ever go back and look at some of the postings from prior years? It’s something I recently added to my daily posts. I’m not sure it’s worth the effort…
I think it’s worth it!
Thanks for the feedback. I’ll keep it up for a while longer…
