Unlike any other creature on this planet, humans can learn and understand, without having experienced. They can think themselves into other people’s minds, imagine themselves into other people’s places.
And many prefer not to exercise their imaginations at all. They choose to remain comfortably within the bounds of their own experience, never troubling to wonder how it would feel to have been born other than they are. They can close their minds and hearts to any suffering that does not touch them personally; they can refuse to know.

Hey! Thanks for all the activity today ;0) Haven’t been in touch for awhile. I hope all is going well. I’ve been away from blogging b/c I’m wrapping up a divorce (finally) so all is well and can’t wait to get started back to the blog (mine and reading others). Hope all is well with you!! Sincerely…
Sorry to hear about your divorce. It’s always hard when your still close to being involved in it. Time does heal – slowly, slowly. My first marriage barely made it two years. It was gut wrenching, but a couple of years later I met my second wife – 28 years and three kids later, we’re still going strong.
Like the song “Bless the Broken Road” advises: sometimes the “failed” relationships are the Northern Stars which lead you to where you need to be…
;0) Thank you for your kind words. After two years of marriage and one year of separation/litigation, I am SO thankful to be moving on. You story gives me hope. Just what I needed to hear ;0) Thank you.
The honor is to serve…
