There is a cult of ignorance in the United States, and there has always been. The strain of anti-intellectualism has been a constant thread winding its way through our political and cultural life, nurtured by the false notion that democracy means that my ignorance is just as good as your knowledge. | |

A Cult Of Ignorance

The question is, how does one grapple with this reality? How do you combat ignorance without swirling down the wormhole yourself?
By remembering that “the honor is to serve” and giving your best (for yourself, read and make yourself better informed). By continually expressing higher expectations (for others). Challenge them; not to be better than you, but to better than they are now.
