Well, today I finally did it!! I got below 300 lbs. My weigh in today was 298.61 lbs!! Down from 332 at the end of Sept.
The other great news is that I completed a four-hour (4!!) jog last Saturday. Very slow – I estimate not more than 3.5mph, but with no stops. I believe the total distance was about 14 miles, which means a half-marathon. I was extremely pleased. Today, I’m doubly happy.
I believe this is my lowest weight in over four years.

Have you kept the weight off?
Hi GP,
LOL!! That’s from seven years ago. I’ve gained and lost it (and gained again) at least three times since then! No. I’m now the heaviest I’ve ever been. Pushing 370lbs. Mea culpa, mea culpa, mea maxima culpa… I keep telling myself I’ll go back to the gym, but I haven’t done anything but walk in over six months. And walking just don’t get it done.
Kevin
I was just curious because I recently joined a gym on the Silver Sneakers program. I’m not losing, but I’m more limber.
LOL !My Drill Sergeant used to say: “I’ll listen to your reasons, but I won’t accept your excuses!”
I keep trying and then I keep getting scared (AFib). I’ve probably averaged 3 trips to the ER per year for the last 3-4 years. Dieting alone doesn’t work for me. I love food AND large portions. I’m running out of time to get back in shape though, so I really need to do something…
Let me know how you do over the next few months. I believe it takes 12 weeks to make a habit.
